Sub-standard Works of Road Laid on New Bridge

Siddapura:The new bridge that has been laid across Cauvery River, near here gives nightmare to motorists and the bitumen has withered posing threat to the concrete below.  The bridge is a vital link between Karnataka and Kerala and forms state highway which was constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore.

Sand smugglers new tactic to throw dust at police eyes!

T. Narasipura:If the  local police have kept a strict eye on sand smugglers in order to put a brake to the sand smuggling activities, the latter have chosen to throw dust at the eyes of the police, by adopting a novel way of smuggling sand.

Bonded Child Laborers Rescued in Maddur

Maddur: Mandya district child helpline rescued 2 bonded child laborers on Wednesday September 11.
Seventeen-year-old Sanju and three-year-old Santosh, children of Nepali couple Bahadur and Dhanalaxmi, who were working as bonded laborers in a poultry farm located in Anedoddy village, near here.

Police Seize Trucks Illegally Transporting Sand, Nab 10 Persons

Maddoor: Tahsildar Dr H L Nagaraju with the help of police arrested 10 persons engaged in illegal sand mining in the basin of Shimsha River, Koolagere village, near here on Friday August 30 at 5.00am and also seized 3 dumper trucks.
